Samsung’s Gear S3 Smartwatch Arrives on August 31st
Samsung’s S3 Smartwatch Arrives on August 31st this year.
Samsung has sent out invitations to the launch event for its next wearable device, set to be held on Wednesday August 31st ahead of the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. The invite shows an abstracted round clock face with the caption “Talk about 3,” suggesting we’ll see a followup to the Gear S2 smartwatch Samsung launched at IFA last year.
There are no official details yet about Gear S3. However Samsung’s S3 Smartwatch is rumored to be keeping the rotating bezel which Gear S2 has. This rotating bezel does the same thing a crown does in an ordinary wristwatch. This was a very clever interface for navigation and made the S2 by far the best smartwatch Samsung has ever made.
It is also rumored that new features will be added. Features like measuring altitude, atmospheric pressure, speed and distance traveled. According to Tutowap , this will be thanks to the inclusion of new barometer, altimeter and integrated GPS sensors in the device.
Samsung declared in January that their smartwatches will be compared to Apple’s iphones but that has not happened. Gear S2 was the first Samsung smartwatch that could be paired with non-Samsung Android smartphones. We will wait and see come August 31st if Samsung’s Gear S3 will be compatible with iOS devices.
