Samsung Might Stop Note 7 Production After All

Will this be the end for Samsung Galaxy Note 7? 🙁

Samsung might stop Note 7 production all together especially with reports that some of the replacement devices caught fire.

These reports made Samsung temporarily halt production after talks with safety regulators. Samsung’s reason being that it is just adjusting the production schedule to ensure quality and safety matters.

As we are aware Samsung issued a recall of the Galaxy Note 7 in September because of faulty batteries that overheated and exploded. New models of the phones were given to customers. The problem was said to have been fixed.Incidents seem to proof otherwise.

On Friday, a Galaxy Note 7 started somoking in the hands of a teenager, Abby Zuis. Her father, Andrew Zuis, states that the device was a replacement phone he had gotten from a Verizon store at the beginning of the recall.

Last week also, a domestic flight in the US( Southwest Airlines) was evacuated after a replacement Note 7 started emitting smoke in the cabin.

A man in Kentucky also reported that he woke up to a bedroom full of smoke from a replaced Note 7.

In the US, AT&T have stopped replacing the Note 7 and T-Mobile on its website said it will temporarily suspend sales and exchanges for replacement Note 7 devices.

Samsung’s statement

“Samsung understands the concern our carriers and consumers must be feeling after recent reports have raised questions about our newly released replacement Note7 devices.

We continue to move quickly to investigate the reported case to determine the cause and will share findings as soon as possible.

We remain in close contact with the CPSC throughout this process.

If we conclude a safety issue exists, we will work with the CPSC to take immediate steps to address the situation.

We want to reassure our customers that we take every report seriously and we appreciate their patience as we work diligently through this process.”
